The meeting began at 1:30 p.m. with Parker presiding in the absence of Kar and Symes Given their absence, no official actions were taken. The following items were discussed.
- Review of the Minutes October 4, 2023, Meeting of Policy Committee. There were no additions or corrections for the minutes.
- Schedule for Fall Policy Committee Meetings:
- Regular Policy Committee Meetings: Rabin noted that there may have been some confusion since the original date for the November Policy Committee meeting had been November 8. Though the move to November 1 was well publicized, this may have been a problem for some members. The remaining fall meetings will be at 1:30 p.m. on:
- Wednesday, December 6 (1st Wednesday); Reading Day is December 7
- Spring Policy Committee Meetings. Williamson will be proposing a schedule based on the responses from the Chapter leaders about their schedules.

- New Business: The following items were discussed briefly in preparation for a more thorough coverage at the December meeting of the Policy Committee.
- Search for New Web Manager. O’Brien noted that there have been responses to the job announcement and will discuss the next steps with Kar and at the next meeting of the Policy Committee.
- Promotion and Tenure Panel. Parker suggested that, as we discussed at the October meeting, it is approaching time to begin seeking panelists so that we can get the event on their schedules.
- Annual Meeting. We noted that is not too early to consider possible speakers for the Annual Meeting so this topic will be an agenda item from now on.
- Chapter Dues. Williamson reviewed the Chapter’s treasury balance and indicated we will need to consider reinstating Chapter dues for 2024.
- Adjournment. There being no further reports the meeting adjourned at about 1:50 p.m. As noted above, the final meeting for the fall will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
