    2. Chancellor Jones and VP Wilson: The new chancellor and Provost Feser have agreed to meet with the Policy Committee on January 23, 2017, at 11 am. I am working with Barbara Wilson to arrange for a date for her visit with the PC.
    3. Tenure workshop: The provost and associate provost have agreed to participate in the workshop on April 20, 2017, 3:30 – 5 pm, 314 A IU. I am arranging for two more panelists.
    4. Statute revisions: The revisions have been approved by the three senates and the Senate Council. They were transmitted to the president on December 5, 2016. I have asked the president’s office to notify when they are sent to BoT. Next BoT meetings

    5. Legislative attacks on tenure and course content: Bob Parker has notified me of the fact that bills have been introduced in the Iowa and Missouri legislatures outlawing tenure at their state universities. Arizona proposes the banning teaching and events regarding certain subjects. We may wish to consider these topics for a workshop or for the May annual membership meeting. I have asked Bob to monitor these and future happenings and he has graciously agreed to do so.
    6. Shared governance questionnaire: The questionnaire prepared by our Shared Governance Ad-Hoc Committee has been sent to the Provost who in turn sent it to SEC. A meeting with Gay Miller, SEC chair, our committee and myself is pending.
    7. Letter from President Killeen: I have received an email thanking us for our resolution supporting IPAC. See also IL Senate Bill 222.
    8. National AAUP Office: I have been communicating with Anita Levy and Hank Reichman (chair, committee A). We can expect the censure visiting team in mid April.
    9. Nominating committee: I am appointing John Prussing (chair), Bob Parker and Bill Williamson to nominate a slate of next year’s chapter officers.
